In October 2021, Fideuram Asset Management SGR and Fideuram Asset Management Ireland joined the Net Zero Asset Managers Initiative (NZAMI) to achieve the target of cutting gas emissions in half by 2030, down to zero by 2050, and back investments in line with this objective.
NZAMI brings together 273 asset managers from around the world, representing more than USD 61 trillion in assets under management (Source: NZAMI - Data as of 31 May 2022), who are formally committed to achieving the goal of zero emissions by 2050. NZAMI also sets transparency criteria and intermediate targets.
One year after joining the initiative, the two companies have established their own intermediate targets to reach the goal of net zero.
Investments in climate solutions, aimed at mitigating climate change, such as green bonds, and engagement and stewardship actions, aimed at providing incentives to investee companies to implement meaningful pathways to decarbonisation, are the main tools that will be used to reach the target of net zero emissions.
